How X-Forwarded-For for IIS licences work

X-Forwarded-For for IIS ยท Updated 19 October 2026

How licensing works for Winfrasoft X-Forwarded-For for IIS: activating a licence, evaluating the product, and which servers need one. For prices, see the product page.

Short answer. Licences are perpetual and file-based. After you buy, the licence file arrives by email; put it in the installation folder and the product activates. There's no activation server and no call-home, so it works on air-gapped servers. A 14-day evaluation licence gives the full product, and test and staging servers are free with any production licence.

How do I activate a licence?

  1. Save the licence file from the email.
  2. Copy it into the X-Forwarded-For for IIS installation folder on the server.

That's all: the product activates immediately. Nothing contacts Winfrasoft, and the server needs no internet access or firewall exceptions, so this works in air-gapped environments and on secure government networks.

Which licence do I need?

  • Per server: production use on one server. Licences are perpetual: pay once, with no subscription.
  • Site licence: unlimited servers within a single legal entity.
  • Non-production: development, test and staging servers are free with any production licence.
  • Annual maintenance (optional) covers updates and email support for the licence term.
  • Priority support (optional) adds a named contact and a response within one business day.

Volume discounts apply to per-server licences from 10 servers.

Can I try it first?

Yes. A 14-day evaluation licence gives the same installation and features for a limited time. Request a download and evaluation licence. To keep it, add a production licence file to the same installation.
